Windows Central is reporting that technology company and PC maker, Lenovo will release the “Legion Go”, their own Windows handheld gaming device, to compete with the Valve Steam Deck, Asus ROG Ally, and Aya NEO, in the handheld gaming market. The Legion is expected to feature AMD’s cutting edge Ryzen Phoenix APUs, and and an 8 inch display. The Legion brand is Lenovo’s current established gaming PC label. Pricing and release dates are still unknown.
The Ryzen 7040U “Phoenix” APU is featured in low-power and ultrathin laptops, featuring the Zen 4 CPU and RDNA 3 GPU cores. The Phoenix lineup includes Ryzen 7, Ryzen 5, and Ryzen 3 models, with the Ryzen 7 7840U showcasing significantly increased performance over competitors like Intel’s Core i7-1360P and Apple’s M2 in both application workloads and graphics performance.
